My last bead embroidered bracelet for the year! It’s been a lot of fun making these each month for my contribution to the Bead Journal Project , but I’m happy to be finished! Next month I’m starting my 4th year with the project, and this year it’s going to be beaded buttons or cabochons…I haven’t exactly decided which yet, but either will use the same round button forms as a base. I seem to be on a bright colors kick! I recently received some fun packets of vintage plastic beads from Vintage Beads from Europe, and the wonderful colors inspired me to keep to the bright palette for September. Usually September finds me pulling out the more customary browns and oranges, so this is a bit of a departure! A really motivated beginner could tackle some of them, and if you’d really like to have a go at it, I’d recommend working through the first one on the list to get the idea of how they go together. From there, dive into the more difficult ones! There are many kits available, and patterns that you can buy. Some beading magazines also have patterns, and if you want to make the really elaborate ones, you’re probably going to have to buy a pattern or kit. Jewelry Packaging Counts!
Kenneth Fron , known for his beautiful beaded necklace designs, sent me a jewelry piece to include in the gallery section of my new book. Of course, I can��t show you the necklace (you have to wait for the book to come out), but I can show you this beautiful box it came in.
