Keeping Jewelry Safe and sound When You Travel
If you are likely to take important jewelry along on a trip, among the first things to do should be to make sure it is covered. No matter what techniques you take to safeguard your possessions, there is always the possibility that your rings could be displaced or taken somewhere as you go along. Once you have covered by insurance your bits, then you can make important ways to keep diamond jewelry safe hoping that you never have to make a claim with your insurance company.
?In no way place your current jewelry within luggage while you are taking just about any public transportation whether on the airlines, cruise lines, or any other service that will require you to end up being separated from your luggage. Sometimes Stainless Steel Jewelry, people overlook their bags in a airport transfer and you may by no means see your carrier again which means you should also maintain jewelry to you even in these quick trips return and forth hotels, airfields, etc.
?As you aren’t using your rings, store it in the protected deposit package of the resort where you are keeping. Never fit valuables on the safe that is located in your current hotel room. If you are staying at an accommodation that doesn’t have a safe Body Jewelry, you must need to either keep jewellery with you always. Never get away from jewelry inside your hotel room although you may think it is properly hidden.
?Never assume that dressed in false bracelets will make you secure. Most people is not going to have a vision if the necklaces is the real thing or not plus it may still turn you into a aim for of jewelry thievery.
?Never dress in valuable bands while boating or in your sauna. Normal water may cause your current fingers to help temporarily get smaller and the wedding ring can disappear without your current being aware of the item.
?Invest in a jewelry travel case which rolls up. This will maintain jewelry via falling out and receiving lost in transit. Cases can be bought in different styles so that you can choose one to the amount and kind of jewelry you actually normally take with them when you travel.
?Consider a person’s destination. When you are traveling to a place where there is a lot of crime, don’t call awareness of yourself by expensive diamond jewelry. While you might want to take your current good necklaces with you to utilize for a occasion, wearing a diamond necklace within the area which has a large prison element is similar to wearing some sort of neon warning that says “rob me”.
One very sound things you can do to safeguard your diamond jewelry when you journey is to bring only what the heck is essential. The better you take along stainless steel hoop earrings, the more at an increased risk you are for having a loss. Bring only everything you normally dress in every day whilst what you keep at home protected in a safe and sound as well.

I got my engagement ring here. I thought they were very nice! The male owner is not very pushy, and he is meticulous. He also gives great deals if you push a little. It appears that Korean moms come here for their blings, and bring their daughters in for the engagement rings, dowry, etc. You can bring in any design you like fashion jewelry, and he’ll make it for you. I was initially a bit worried, but he was good. I’ve come back a few times to change this and that, and he’s been cooperative. Pay a visit CZ jewelry!|||I would suggest that anyone who gains access to their ring from here to make sure they get it tested after they receive it… (altho I would advise them against even purcha ?I won’t go into details due to privacy reasons, but if someone doesn’t have excellent “jewelry knowledge” he/she can be easily duped by them.|||I would never trust this place. ?There are some great places in the jewelry district that are affordable yet reputable. ?This is not one of them. ?They may be cheap, but they are not reputable. ?Don’t go here! ?They have no idea what they are talking about, the quality is horrible, and they don’t guarantee their jewelry.

I bought my engagement ring from Oscar. ? Oscar was fantastic — he is a true craftsman who came up with a beautiful design and implemented it flawlessly, and my fiancee loved the ring he made for her. I knew nothing about engagement rings, but this was a hugely important purchase. ?I went to about 15 different stores, and my fiancee liked Oscar’s designs the best of all of the places we looked. ? ?We were both very comfortable with him, and he gave us some really useful information about options that other merchants simply hadn’t provided (ask him about platinum versus gold rings, for example). Here is a list of the pros and cons I took away from the experience:Cons:Oscar is really busy. ?He is extremely friendly about it, but expect to have to spend some time waiting for him while you are shopping for the ring. And in terms of delivery time, we weren’t in a huge hurry to have the ring delivered, but it did take him 3 weeks to make the ring. ?That said, he knew we weren’t in a huge hurry, and he estimated 4 weeks, so he delivered in under his estimate.Communication: ?Oscar doesn’t immediately return emails. ?He did always eventually return the emails, and you can always call, but he isn’t a blackberry instant responder type. ?On the other hand, do you really need this in a jewelry designer?Pros: Craftsmanship: ?The ring he made was amazing. ? You can look at the workmanship under a microscope. ? He has a background as a purchaser of diamonds, so he gets amazing stones, and he does extremely high quality work with the ring. ?The one part he doesn’t do himself is the small diamonds around the band, but he has a particular craftsman he uses in San Diego who does an amazing job with those stones (micro pave). ? Integrity: ?You can tell that Oscar values his reputation much more than he values a sale. ?He is honest and straightforward in his interactions, and gives you the truth regardless of how it might impact a sale or his profit margin.Experience/Knowledge: ?One thing that drove me nuts when we were looking for rings was everyone telling me that platinum was more expensive than gold. ?I couldn’t understand why, since the metals are the same price now. ?Oscar was the only one who could explain why (there is much more platinum by weight in a platinum ring than in a gold ring of the same size). ?Between his comprehensive knowledge of diamonds and jewelry, you could just see the years of experience, and you were comfortable that you were in good hands.Professionalism: Oscar delivers what he promises. ?He goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied. ?He knew I wanted the ring a bit early in order to propose the next weekend. ? He arranged to have it shipped back from the artisan who does the micro pave overnight. ? ? When we went to pick up the ring, my fiancees hands were a bit swollen, and Oscar and his staff stayed late to make sure the ring would fit comfortably and that we could take it with us that day.
When it came time for my husband to pop the question, he headed downtown in search for the perfect ring for me. ?He search high and low for a particular cut of diamond which can be hard to come by. ?He went to several stores and lo and behold he found it at Oscar’s. ?Oscar pulled out the stone from his personal collection and educated the hubby on the four C’s of the business. ?Since Joe had been running around the diamond district for a good part of the day, Oscar kindly treated him to free lunch while waiting on the ring. ?Oscar and his staff didn’t try to swindle my husband and gave him great customer service. ?With that being said, I went with Joe back to Oscar’s in search of my wedding band. ?One of the store associates assisted us. ?She listened to the type of ring I was looking for and gave her feminine input on what would pair nicely with my engagement ring. ?We made our purchase in under an hour. ?But when we got home my husband saw the 10% discount on Yelp and immediately called Oscar’s about it. ?Even after purchase, they kindly added the discount. ?Thank you Oscar’s for decorating my ring fingers with some beautiful pieces.
I had an amazing experience at Oscar’s Design! I designed the ring for my girlfriend and could not be HAPPIER
Oscar was patient, honest and helpful. I plan on going here many times in the future!
We love Oscar’s! ?great people, great jewelry, and the absolute best prices. ?Do not go to some fancy brand name store, do not buy anything online… go see Oscar. ?My fianc gets complemented on her ring all the time, and it’s all because Oscar took the time to describe to me what it was that’s important in buying an engagement ring. ?We just bought our wedding rings there too.
My fiance and I actually stumbled upon Oscar’s by chance-we arrived early for an appointment at another store downstairs, so we decided to explore the rest of the building. ?Thank goodness we found Oscar’s! ?The second we walked in, everyone was so welcoming and helpful Costume Jewelry, and the jewelry is just beautiful and of great quality. ?I felt that they truly wanted to help me find “the ring”, instead of just trying to make a sale. ?There are no high-pressure sales tactics here at all, which is rare downtown. ?They truly let the quality of the jewelry sell itself. ?And if you just can’t find that perfect piece…they will design it for you! ?Which is what we decided to do. ?I gave Oscar an idea of what I wanted, he added his creative input, and after exchanging emails (including photos of the wax mold and computer images of the to-be ring) and tweaking things here and there, they created a truly beautiful ring!We didn’t have a huge budget; they will definitely work with you to give you the best for what you can afford. ?I absolutely recommend Oscar’s not just for engagement/wedding rings but for any other jewelry. We ended up also getting my wedding band here, and that is just gorgeous as well. ?You just have to come in to see their pave work, it is just beautiful-everything is lined up so perfectly and the diamonds really sparkle and shine. ?Thanks so much to Oscar, Jean-Claude and Kay for always being so helpful!
The short of it: I didn’t have my wedding ring in time for my destination wedding. The really long of it….I got a call from Oscar 4 weeks after my wedding. He wanted to talk to me after seeing my original review on Yelp! He said he felt bad about my experience at his shop and said that he was upset about my review. He asked me to revisit my review. My dealings with Oscar had to do with my wedding band. It’s an emotional purchase. I agreed to revisit my review to see if I was too subjective/emotional, but before I could, I get an email from Yelp! saying my review has been removed. I can only assume he complained to Yelp! about my review and had it removed. Here is my second attempt to be less emotional and more objective with my experience at Oscars….I came to Oscar’s six weeks before my wedding. I had searched many stores looking for a ring. I found a nice ring at Oscar’s (created by another designer). I was working with Jean-Claude. I asked him if he could make a minor change to a ring he had in the case. He told me ‘no’, but that they could make the ring I wanted. I took the time to draw a sketch to illustrate what I was looking for. Jean-Claude assured me he could create the ring I wanted. I said okay and gave him my deposit. Jean-Claude told me that he would have the ring ready for me in a week. TWO weeks later, I HAD TO CALL them to check on my ring. They said it wasn’t ready yet, but would be done in a few days. An additional week later, I HAD TO CALL AGAIN. They said the ring was ready. I went to the shop to check it out. IT WAS NOTHING LIKE WHAT I REQUESTED. The frustrating part is that I drew a sketch and they had a ring almost exactly like it already in the shop. Obviously Jean-Claude wasn’t paying attention. To top if all off, the center diamond was crooked. Oscar eventually explained the process that they used (casting two different pieces Silver Jewelry, then putting them together). This was an issue on all 3 rings shown to me, the center stones were crooked on all of rings produced by Oscar.I became pretty upset at this point. Oscar then got involved. He apologized for the mix up. And said they would try it again and have it done in a couple of days. He even said that he would have one of his associates bring it to me when it was completed. It was at this time I asked Oscar, point blank, if he could really accomplish what I wanted. He reassured me that he could.I had to follow up with them again. Four weeks had passed by the time I saw the second ring. I met with his associate near my house (as promised, he did have someone drop it off). He said to keep it for the night and to let him know if I wanted to keep the ring. It was a very pretty ring and I did consider keeping it, but again, it was not what I asked for, nor was the center diamond straight…I returned the diamond the next day and asked for a refund of my deposit. He complied. I believe Oscar genuinely tried to send me off as a “happy” customer. He offered a very tempting price reduction on the third attempt at making my ring, due to my experience with his shop thus far. I eventually accepted the offer (due to the savings). I only had two weeks left until I left for my wedding. Needless to say, Oscar’s last attempt at my ring had nicks on it that couldn’t be buffed out and again, the center stone setting was crooked. At this point, I only had about a week before my wedding and I had to go to a different jeweler. The other jeweler (whom I won’t mention here since Yelp! may remove my review for that…) got my ring done in one shot with excellent service and communication, but because I had used up all of my time with Oscar’s, I didn’t have my ring in time for my wedding. ?I had to get married with a substitute steel band…After receiving the call from Oscar but before having my review removed from Yelp!, I was going to call Oscar back and give him a second chance…that way I could detail my review with what I was hoping would be a successful transaction between us. Since it is my belief (no proof, just circumstantial evidence) that he complained to Yelp! and had my review removed…I have no desire to do so. I will not go back to Oscars.
Not only have I featured Oscar on my TV news reports over the years… and not only have I featured Oscar on my Best Buys TV Show… and not only is Oscar listed on my website http://www.AlanBestBuy…… but I also got my wife’s engagement ring from Oscar. ?What more can I say?
So the economy is bad…everyone gets it. Times are tough and we’re all trying to save. Funny thing is, every time I go to Oscar’s his place is packed. I’ve gone on a Saturday afternoon, Tuesday morning, doesn’t matter). The other stores in the same building cannot say the same. On my last visit (to pick out wedding rings now that the engagement business is all done – satisfied customers coming back), this woman commented on how people just keep coming in, to which Oscar replied, “Yes, it gets busy sometimes.” I laughed and interjected saying that Oscar’s is always busy b/c he’s such a good jeweler, but he’s to humble to admit to his popularity. I think the world of Oscar, but judging by how busy he is, so does everyone else.
I recently got my engagement ring here. Spent over 4 months of research and found this cool place. The staff here is not pushy at all. I met Oscar, the owner, and he was just so laid back. I gave him my budget and what I want in a diamond. And he met my expectation. He gave me a good deal on the diamond too. Ask him and he would give you a brief education on diamonds. There’s a parking lot next to the building; it’s $5 for 3 minutes, maximum $12 or $15 (don’t remember) and it’s cheaper on the weekends after hours *sorry I’ll update this next time I get there*
Okay I agree that the owner is the nicest guy and really laid back, but our experience here wasn’t that great. Probably because it was a busy saturday.BIG TIP: do not go to the jewelry district on saturdays… that’s their busiest day of the week and they have a lot of additional hired hands helping. Some who really shouldn’t be doing sales. If you go on a week day you will have a totally unrushed, calm experience with a salesperson who can actually spend time with you.We had this really push guy with a thick russian accent that just kept pestering us with to look at diamonds when all we wanted was to look at ring settings. “How much do you want to spend?” “What size diamond?” “Don’t worry about the ring, not important, the diamond is the important, we can do whatever you want with the ring” “You want to look at some diamonds?” “Yes, no?”At the end of an hour of dealing with this pushy salesperson, my fiancee and I were completely drained and left not feeling any closer to finding the perfect ring…
I rarely give 5 stars, but I felt especially inclined to give Oscar 5 stars. ? I believe Oscar been in the business for, what, 18 years? ?He knows stones, he knows the jewelry market/business, and he knows he wants repeat customers by doing business that make his customers happy. ?There are a SIGNIFICANT number of jewelers in the downtown jewelry district, but I think you’ll find that Oscar’s is typically almost always busy. ?Why? ? Good, honest business generates repeat customers and referrals. ? I always have a pretty good sense of a person’s character/integrity, and I really truly think Oscar is a one-of a kind jeweler. ?He knows that many of his customers come here for very special purchases and they are spending their hard-earned money, and he respects that. ? I haven’t dealt with many high-end jewelers in my life, but you can pretty much guarantee I expect to have a long-term business-type relationship with Oscar (fortunate for him, unfortunate for my budget!), because of a previous purchase. ? If you’re in the market for bling, check this man out!!!
Been our jeweler for 10 years now. Oscar’s an expert gemologist and he provides excellent customer service. You deal with him directly and not with a sales guy like in other jewelry stores. ?Pricing is very competitive, actually better than big jewelry shops like the one down in Tustin.
I got my Simon G. e-ring and wedding band set from Oscars and it was breathtaking. When I first saw the rings, I could’ve sworn I literally stopped breathing for awhile before I started laughing uncontrollably and almost cried at the same time. The rings are just impeccable and a showstopper! Okay, maybe I’m a little bit biased since I did pick the design and this kind of purchase is very personal and subjective. But as a customer, I would say that Oscar delivered and gave me exactly what I expected…a very high quality item at a very reasonable price. After jotting down a few places (through yelp reviews) in the jewelry district, my other half and I went on our quest to find the “perfect” e-ring. The initial process was not easy and it was overwhelming. We were confused as to where to start and I didn’t even have a setting yet. But I knew the diamond shape that I wanted and I was hoping that looking around the stores would give me a better idea of a setting. I bumped into Oscars when looking for a setting and saw some Simon G settings that caught my eye in the store. For our second visit, I told Oscar I wanted to look at diamonds too, and gave him the shape and the specification ranges (5Cs + table % + depth % + GIA + fluorescence, etc) that I’m looking for. Yes, I am very THOROUGH and very PICKY. Oscars hands down has the best/tight range of specifications on the diamond I was looking for compared to this other store downstairs that showed us several oddball stones (visible inclusion smack dab in the center, an IF stone within specs but has a bad cut and no sparkle, EGL not GIA cert, etc.). So we were cornered to pick between worse or better, but none we were sure of. This makes me feel uneasy and is not acceptable after I specifically indicated what I’m looking for. I find ?Oscar and his staff (Jean Claude and Kaye) very pleasant to work with. Oscar is knowledgeable and patient (at times we were there for hours and left with nothing) and did not push us in anyway to make a purchase. And I like his straightforward approach minus the sales pitch (Robbins Bros – I’m looking at you!). The only downside is that Oscar doesn’t provide free replating. But this is not a big issue to me since I did not get white gold nor do I anticipate to service the ring often. A good quality ring should minimize its maintenance. As the old adage goes, you get what you pay for, so I don’t mind paying a bit for a job well done. Here are some tips that I learned from the ring buying process: 1) Diamond: The CUT of the stone is MOST important and you can sacrifice color and clarity. You can have a gorgeous sparkly stone that reflects light in the G-I color and VS2 or lower clarity that people will not be able to tell on a setting; or you can have a D-F color and VVS2+ clarity that is poorly cut and look dull while paying more $$$. I would definitely pick the former. 2) Experience: Ultimately, the quest for the “perfect” stone is more intuitive than it is technical. Each stone is unique and has its own personality. So try to look through as many stones as you can to train your eyes and get a feel for it, get VERY confused – it’s normal, stop for a few weeks, and start looking again. You will know when you find “the one.” I started by looking for “the best” cut, color, and clarity but even though the one I pick is not the best on paper, I’m absolutely in love with it. 3) Setting: Most stores can make the setting you want BUT after much thought I decided to go with a name brand. Gold is gold, platinum is platinum, right? Maybe. But I’m not a jeweler nor do I have their expertise. But I know most rings are not pure and are alloys of different metals that affect the quality of the ring. A name brand gives me some sense of security that ?what I have is of good quality and requires the least maintenance. This is where I lucked out to find both the stone AND setting at Oscars.4) Don’t judge a store by its cover: Many times while I was at Oscars I would see couples come in, glance around Stainless Steel Jewelry, and leave while I’m silently thinking, “their loss”. To be honest, I was skeptical about Oscars too in the beginning since they have limited jewelry displayed, and they don’t market themselves as a specialty (i.e. bridal) jewelry store. But most brides or bride-to-bes tend to have an idea of the setting they want from magazine, celebrities, friends’, websites, childhood fantasies, or their own design, etc. So it is not cost effective or logical for stores to have a large display of sample rings.5) Don’t feel obligated to make a purchase no matter how nice and accommodating the sales person is. It’s their job but it’s your hard-earned money.I hope this review helps in your ring hunting stress…err…process. So if you happen to be in the area, check Oscars out. You don’t have anything to lose
After months of searching for the perfect engagement ring, I came across Oscar’s Design Jewelry, and decided to give Oscar a call. I told him what I was looking for and what I wanted to spend. He said to visit the next time I was in California, and that he’d work with me to get me what I want. That was all I needed to hear before settling on buying a ring from him. From just speaking to him over the phone, I could tell that he’s a good guy. ? When my now fiancee and I arrived to his store, Oscar sat down with us and went over all of our options. I tried on a few different styles of a similar look, and decided on the perfect setting. Then it was on to the most important part– the center stone. After a few minutes of inspections and negotiations, I had settled on a beautiful stone, while remaining within my budget. Oscar is genuine and will get you the best possible piece of jewelry your finances will allow. He’s extremely professional, personable, honest and truly cares about his customers. ? I couldn’t be happier with the purchase, my gorgeous ring, the superb service we received and the quality and craftsmanship of my ring. Oscar made me a custom ring that has been getting compliments ever since I took it out in public. I highly recommend Oscar’s, and will definitely be back myself for the wedding band and other pieces as well. Thanks Oscar!
Beautiful diamonds and Oscar is a doll. ?I checked out many different places in the jewelry district and Oscars fit the bill. ?His diamonds are beautiful and he offers many unique settings. ?I told him my budget (which was not that substantial in terms of diamonds) and he didn’t bat an eye or make me feel the fool. ?He has jewelry for every price range, just let him know and he will hook you up. ?My husband and I have been looking for a jeweler that can be our “go-to” guy and Oscar is definitely him.
I went there to see if they could design a custom wedding band for me. Oscar was so busy, one of his hired helping hands was helping us. We showed her our engagement ring as reference, and let me say, she didn’t handle the ring with respect. She shoved it into the ring sizer very hard, dropped it once on the glass, and that was pretty much it. I took back the engagement ring and left.
I have nothing but good things to say about Oscar’s. ?My fiancee and I actually purchased a white sapphire in lieu of a diamond, for both ethical and financial reasons, and then went to Oscar to design the setting. ?We chose him because of the positive reviews on Yelp, and were definitely glad we did. ?He’s friendly, attentive, takes his time with you, and delivers a beautiful, high quality product. ?Oscar never balked over us wanting an alternative to a diamond. ?And I love my ring! ?It’s a beautiful stone in a very classic yet modern setting, and very well made.
Picked out an engagement ring on my own from another place and my wife didn’t like the setting. ?We took the ring to Oscars and he worked with us back and forth for a few months custom designing exactly what my wife wanted. ?He even sat down in front of the computer with us to design the ring in 3D and made several different iterations of the wax mold for us. ?In the end, the ring turned out amazing and he only charged us for the labor in making the ring (allowing us to trade the old platinum setting in for the new platinum). ?He is one of the few who truly cares about his trade and his clients, and he’s the only jeweler I’ll be going to in the future. ?The only downside is the pricey downtown parking.
I came here a second time after I purchased my wife’s engagement ring. ?This time, I bought my wedding band. ?I give Oscar five star for his patience, demeanor, and attitude. I’m not much of a shopper, but my wife IS. ?I can say that we looked all over downtown for 1) quality engagement rings, 2) fair to good prices, 3) good service and quality support. ?I have to say that Oscar’s has all three aspects down to a science. ?When we were shopping for a ring, we compared his rings to Tiffany’s. ?Most of the similar rings at the same price range were of significant lower quality. ?When you compare price to price, you will typically find lower quality diamonds or craftmanship, or lesser service. ?When we came in a second time to purchase my wedding band, Oscar polished and cleaned the engagement ring to a new shine so the ring looked bigger and brighter for the wedding. ?All I have to say is I’m a very satisfied customer and I’m certain Oscar will satisfy you, too.
I stopped into Oscar’s Design Jewelry after visiting several other shops in los angeles and in orange county. Initially i bought my fiance an engagement ring from Michael B.( very expensive/High end) and i bought the engagement bands with it. However the bands were too big and according to every other shop including Michael B. it could not be resized due to having micro pave diamonds all around. Instead, they would have to make new bands and my current bands would only be worth only their materials (essentially worthless). Long story short, i met Oscar and right away he understood my situation and sized the band and also made sure it was identical to the engagement ring and he made sure to keep the design stamp intact. He saved me thousands and was the nicest and most fair priced jeweler that i have met. Dont get me wrong, Michael B was awesome and nice but they are not even on the same level as Oscar. I will be going back to Oscar for all my jewelery in the future.
They have wonderful customer service, were very knowledgeable and are reasonably priced. Would recommend this place over the other stores in the building. Ask for Kay. She’s great!
Thank you so much, Valencia of Oscar’s Design Jewelry for finding us our wedding rings and sticking within our budget. Thank you Oscar. ?He’s got very classy designs that fits any budget. ?Best to go there on weekdays since we got superb service and attention. I will definitely go back for an upgrade when the time comes
?Thanks again!

My husband I wanted simple silver wedding bands. We first explored platinum — Gulp! ?The price was over-the-top. ?After exploring further, we decided to go with tungsten, the hardest substance next to diamonds. Our tungsten-carbide bands are guaranteed to never scratch; and, so far, they haven’t! They shine like mirrors. We get a lot of compliments on them, and unlike Monster Beats by Dre Studioplatinum, we’ll never have to have the scratches buffed out. DeBebians was even able to offer the ring a nice fat 12mm size 4 for me. I love it! ?Both rings for about $250. Now that’s love. I’ll recommend DeBebians to anyone who asks.
Funny how all of the sudden, after my review, there are two new reviews with 5 stars. ?Friend of yours I assume….As for you calling me a liar. ?First of all, I never denied any offer that was made to me. ?I accepted it as the best that your company could do, which is why I sent my ring back to you in the first place. ?An no, you dont charge by a percentage, but the amount you were charging me for the lifetime guarantee was 30% of my purchase price. ?Do the math…Here are our emails and what Maggie had to say. This email starts after I had called EFA Diamonds to find out what I have to do to send my ring back for its lifetime guarantee. ?In this conversation I was told that I was going to be charged a replacement fee, a sizing fee and shipping. ?Which came out to be around $115 when my original purchase price was $185. ?This is when I asked to talk to a manager about the “Lifetime Guarantee”. ?Maggie and I spoke in length about the policy that EFA Diamonds has in place, and I expressed my feelings about how their policy is a huge misrepresentation of a “Lifetime Guarantee”. ?I would have expected to have to pay for shipping but to me a “Lifetime Guarantee” says that the item is replaced without further charges if it breaks. ?Simple! Here is our conversation after Maggie had offered me a few discounts, WHICH I HAD ALREADY ACCEPTED AND WAS PLANNING TO SEND MY RING BACK, and then she read my review on yelp. ?Notice the last sentence of the first email, as if she now plans to not honor the discounts she originally offered because I had a negative experience and expressed it. And then, the last email by Sam, who now refuses to offer any discounts whatsoever. Jolena,I spoke with you earlier today regarding your lifetime guarantee for your husbands tungsten wedding ring that has broken. I am sad to see that you have posted such a negative review about our company, especially based on the fact that we are really trying to help you by waiving some of these fees for you. As we discussed over the phone, your ring is not available in a finger size 13. ?The largest size available is a 12. ?Also, as we discussed over the phone, our lifetime guarantee information is stated on the website for all customers to read prior to making their purchase. Please let me know what we can do in order to rectify this situation. We did offer you discounts but it seems that you are misrepresenting our company in your review based on what we have offered you. I will wait to hear your reply prior to processing your lifetime guarantee. Regards,MaggieMaggie,The lase sentence of your email sounds like a threat Stainless Steel Jewelry, as if you are not going to honor the lifetime guarantee, or the waiving of shipping and sizing fee based on my review. ?My review was factual and not at all a misrepresentation. ?If someone reads it then it is up to them to analyze the information and criticize the situation. ?If they seem to feel that your “rules” for a lifetime guarantee are the industries standard then I am wrong in my thinking, but its my guess that the rest of the public would agree with my statements. ?I will be happy to go back and edit my comment and make sure to mention the fee waivers that you are giving me. ?My apologies for forgetting to do so. ?I will be sending my ring back today.JolenaJolena Bridal Jewelry,I have just read your updated review and it portrays EFA Diamonds in an even worse manner than before. I am very disappointed that you feel so negative about our company and its policies. I will be passing all this information on the owner of the company. He will be more than happy to see what we can offer you from here on out. I simply asked you to review the facts and to not misrepresent our company and/or it’s polices and to include our complete conversation in your review so that it was a full and accurate representation. It seems that even us waiving so many fees still is not good enough for you. Please do not return your ring until I pass this information along to see what we can offer you. Thanks Costume Jewelry,MaggieJolena,Both Elaine and Maggie have informed me of your situation with your husbands wedding ring. I have also read the emails back and forth between you and Maggie as well as your review about our company and its polices that you posted on Yelp! I am truly sorry that you seem to be so upset and frustrated with this situation. It seems that Maggie has authorized discounts for your lifetime guarantee including waiving the custom finger size fee and the return shipping & handling ($65 in value) but that doesn’t seem the be satisfactory. Based on the fact that all of our polices, etc are clearly stated on the website as well as your inaccurate review of my company on Yelp, we will no longer be authorizing any discounts.Maggie did ask that you hold off on returning your ring however, we have received it in the mail. Please feel free to contact me at the number below.Regards,Sam

I had two rings that had been sitting around and neglected for years – a plain white gold band and Tiffany’s platinum band with a tiny diamond. ?I’d been considering selling the rings for some time now and decided to see what it would be worth if I sold it. ?Being new to the area, I Yelped for local establishments and Rothstein Jewelers popped up with consistently good, but not over-the-top reviews – always a good thing. So I headed over there with my guards up expecting to be fed a lot of bull. ?To my surprise, it was actually the opposite. ?Janet was super nice and took her time explaining how they calculate/value the gold and reassured me that there was no pressure to sell that day. ?She calculated the price for both my rings – the plain gold band came out to be more than I anticipated while the platinum one came out lower than I anticipated – primary reason being it was a Tiffany’s ring. ?That said, Janet actually noted that I would get a better return if I tried selling it to someone who would wear it, especially given that it was a Tiffany’s piece. ?I had a great experience and would definitely go back. ?Janet is honest, friendly and professional and really takes her time with her customers.
Rothstein Jewelers challenges my usual retail cynicism. ?I have been going there for more than ten years and have never been disappointed. ?Virtually all their business is by referral — you wouldn’t just stumble onto their location, which is upstairs at a mini-mall. ?And referral business doesn’t prosper by accident. ?Janet and Richard are expert, honest and fair and always give you the straight scoop — what a refreshing change. ?They know their business inside out and seem to always follow the Golden Rule dealing with their customers. ?I first heard about this place from an acquaintance, and took something there to be repaired. ?Since then, I’ve had fine vintage pieces restored, pearls restrung, and purchased countless gifts at a fraction of the price they would be elsewhere. ?They are very knowledgeable and generous with information ?– I never leave without learning something about the material, age, workmanship or quality of my item that I didn’t know before. ?They’re just the best.
This was such a lovely find! ?I had 3 necklaces that were a mess! ?All tangled up. So I just needed a place to fix them and found Rothsteins on Yelp! ?(i love you yelp!) ?They were the nicest people – very knowledgable, helpful, sincere. ?They did a great job, super fast. ?They had a lot of vintage jewelry there too and I ended up buying a darling, little, gold heart pendant. ?When I said I was interested in pendants, she showed me some and I saw a vintage Tiffany heart. ?The woman helping told me the price (which was half of the original) and then explained the price of gold, why the changes in cost from the day before when i had dropped of the pendant. ?She then even took out a book on manufacturer who make the exact same Tiffany design, but nowhere near the Tiffany price. ? I was so impressed that she was as concerned with my money as she would have been her own. They are very honest, helpful, and were more concerned with making me happy them earning a bigger buck. ?VERY RARE.The store is small and it’s run by this woman and her husband. ?I highly recommend them!
I needed to get my ears re-pierced and HATE pain. Janet was sooo great at reassuring me that it wouldn’t hurt and took great care in explaining the after care that it completely set me at ease. Janet and Richard were very personable and the entire visit was great. Thanks again you two!Heather
Today was my first visit at Rothstein’s and I had a great experience. I took in several pieces of jewelry that I was curious about and wanted to have cleaned. Richard was very helpful in examining and giving me some background knowledge on the pieces. The bracelets I took in to be cleaned were very grimy as they have been in storage prior to being given to me, and Richard worked extremely hard at getting them to gleam again. All told the experience was very informative and successful and he only charged me $5! I would gladly have paid more for the service, but he was extremely gracious about the small bill. I look forward to the next time I have the occasion to come here.
I originally called Rothstein Jewelers because I was looking for somewhere close to my work to get jewelry cleaning done. ?Janet was very nice on the phone and said they’d do it for free unless it needed more work like polishing. ?Then I noticed on their website that they buy gold. ?So, I ?took a bunch of stuff for myself, my sister, my mom and my co-worker to sell. ?I went to a Cash For Gold place first to get a quote – of course, that place was so seedy! ?Then I went to Rothstein Jewelers. ?First off, Janet, is SUPER NICE and personable. ?She was quite busy wholesale findings, but between me and all the other customers that came in (a couple other women were there selling their gold to Rothstein Jewelers), I was very happy with her professionalism and offered me more than the other place for the gold jewelry I was selling. ?Plus I got my wedding ring cleaned while I was there. ?Since some of the pieces I was selling were quite nice, she said I could get more by consigning them at her store if I didn’t need the money right away. ?So, you could score some great “new” jewelry for yourself since I know my pieces on consignment are selling for less than I bought them for at retail prices ?She doesn’t have all her jewelry in the showcase counters so just let her know what you’re looking for. ?I would highly recommend working with Janet!
Great, easy, friendly service…. and in Beverly Hills! How rare!My necklace clasp had broken so I came in to Rothstein and was immediately welcomed by a friendly face. The lady quickly fixed it on the spot, cleaned the necklace and didn’t charge me a dime.
I went by the store this morning on my way to work to have a number of pieces repaired. The woman running the store was incredibly friendly and kind. She offered me trade in value on a necklace clasp that had broken and then replaced it on the spot! Highly recommend this store.

Short Version: Small but a lot of heart.Long Version: These merchants may not have the biggest or most spectacular of displays, but they really work hard to get your business. They have a range of gems available, some of them quite nice. But what was remarkable to me was how every time I was getting ready to leave, they would stop me and make me a better offer to get my business. At one point, it almost became ridiculous how low the prices got. Unfortunately gift ideas, they didn’t have the type of gem I was looking for, but they really made me stop and reconsider, which is a credit to their salesmanship. If you’re in the neighborhood and are flexible as to what you’re shopping for findings jewelry, you may consider stopping by and seeing if you can find what you’re looking for here.

My history with Belle Epoque is a long standing romance. I was brought here by a friend when she found out that Earl and I were toying with engagement talk. It was there on Hill Street, where Tina had let us take a few diamonds set in rings outside to see them in the sun, that Earl and I fell in love with the same vintage stone with just 58 facets that we knew we were going to be engaged. They took that hand cut rock out of it’s unappealing old setting, let me choose a new setting, and in just a few days, it was ready and breathtaking. I didn’t get to see it until he popped the question, but it was worth the wait. It was fresh and it was ancient and it was unlike anything I had ever seen before. As we speak, they have my sparkly baby back in their hands for a good cleaning and servicing, which is always free. Diamonds are like cars, take care of them and they’ll take care of you. Girls, you know what I mean.Since then, I’ve been the yenta that dragged a young man here to find his engagement ring. To his great joy he found something wonderful and EXPENSIVE looking that was within his budget. Don’t mind the “price tags”. Ask to see the piece, THEN ask how much it is. Show your genuine interest and the prices drop dramatically. Buy a few things, it drops again. Be a regular and the sky’s the limit.I’ve also brought in a black pearl that we brought back from our Fiji honeymoon and 3 Aquamarine stones I had brought home from India 9 years prior that needed something done with them. With Tina’s help antique pocket watches, I designed pieces on the spot, she helped me choose my details and within a couple of weeks, I had jewelry that I had designed myself! They needed a few tweaks and those were handled as well! How fun is that? I turned the aquamarine into 3 stackable rings with hammered silver bands. ($600 for the set) and I made the pearl into a pendant necklace floating within an silver ring with an audience of tiny diamonds. ($400).I also found my 40th birthday gift from my hubby here. A wood rose ring with lots of bling a ding ding. And a gift from my mom that she could not deny was gorgeous and she’s a tough cookie. They are the best jewelers in Los Angeles and Tina is someone that I can trust with my most precious things.FINDING IT: This can be tricky. I think parking under Pershing Square is the cheapest but be prepared to pay $10-$15 just to park in the area for an hour or more. Belle Epoque is in the giant Jewelry Building at 650 Hill Street. They are on the GROUND FLOOR and look the same as the many stands there. They are inside but near the sidewalk side close to 7th street. It doesn’t look like anything special, but that is just the place to see things and meet Tina and her mom. Jewelry is built and cleaned and serviced across the street.
I went to 4 shops in the jewlerey district of Los Angeles and numerous other jewlerey shops looking for a wedding band to go with my antique wedding ring. ?This was the 3rd shop I went to in the Jewelery district and by then I had a good idea of what I was looking for. ?In the end I needed to get something custom made to fit the shape of my ring, however, Belle Epoque didn’t seem to take me seriously or want to try and work with me. ?They showed me a couple of items that weren’t really what I was looking for and then said that it would have to be custom made and gave me a price range that was $100 over what I had been quoted at two other places. They were ok and probably would have been fine if you didn’t want a custom piece but I wasn’t all that impressed.
I took a vintage ring of mine in to Belle Epoque to have its prongs tightened and their selection of antique and vintage jewelry took my breath away. It’s one of 100 stalls in a big open room in the diamond district, but don’t waste time going to any of the other vendors. The guy behind the counter at one point offered me a paper towel to wipe up the drool I was leaving on his glass case.Among the pieces that caught my eye: a glittering 62-carat diamond bracelet and an engagement ring featuring a sizable antique cushion with a big open culet, set in a halo of sapphires. If you’re looking for rare stones like old mine cuts, this is the place to go. Nothing is cheap but it’s free to look!
I just cant say enough great things about Belle Epoche.. I took my engagement ring which was a solitare to them to have a custom setting made.. after working with Tina I came up with an idea, she quoted it, I gave her my diamond and she sent it to be made. ?I of course was nervous as heck that I wouldnt like it or the quality would be poor but even earlier than I expected she called me to say it was ready!I drove there sooo nervous, walked in and sat down. ?She opened the box and all i can say is I cried.. it was perfect in every single way. ?Not to mention I gave her my 3.75 carat diamond to set into it and of course it was there flawless in the setting.. Its a micro pave setting with the diamonds going all the way around and the quality is just amazing wholesale Silver Jewelry, seriously… I got married a year ago and the ring is just such high quality, no bends, scratches, no diamonds have come out.. I’m in love with it. I felt the price was very reasonable.. I even purchased two tiny bands to go along my wedding ring which are of the same high quality as my custom band. ?I also had her custom make a chain that I hung a pendant on.. LOVE that too.. Tina was incredibly easy to work with, professional, knowledgable and fair. When I’m ready to have another piece made I would absolutely go back to Belle Epoche…
I have worn many of this store’s unique pieces, and each time, it is guaranteed that I receive compliments on them! ?They are unique, and tasteful, and the customer service is genuine.
For my wedding gift, my family wanted to buy me a matching jewelry set (yes, old school) and dragged me all over the LA jewelry district. Everything just seemed so mediocre and hardly any of it felt young! Until Belle Epoque, that is! Gorgeous and unique vintage styles and finally jewelry that appealed to me! The owner was very friendly and helpful, and gave us a great price on stunning turquoise and diamond drops ?(which I loved so much that I actually wore on my wedding day!). I will definitely go back whenever the budget allows…
Decent selection of vintage jewelry. ?I thought many pieces were substantially overpriced given the condition. ?I was hoping to find an interesting piece of jewelry for a Christmas present, unfortunately not much caught my eye.
If you’re looking for amazing vintage jewlery, this is the place to go. ?The owner has a good eye for finding unique and gorgeous pieces. It’s like a candy store in there, you want every piece Body Jewelry Wholesale! This is the real deal.
I saw my friend’s antique setting and my jaw dropped, I knew I wanted a ring like that. I begged my fiance’ at the time to take a look at belle epoque and we did. ?We took in my 3 carat Radiant cut Diamond in hoping for the best, Tina helped us find the perfect setting. Micro pave halo setting with diamonds going down each side, beautiful. ?I told her I loved it but I wanted to change it a bit. I told her I would like the Micropave to be eternity instead of half way down each side, she said ok. ?Then I told her I wanted to add a touch of pink . I wanted a pink diamond on each side of the shank. ?Tina told me NO, if I wanted pink, to get Pink sapphires and it would pop more than a light pink diamond, so I did. ?It was much lower in cost to do that , and I really respected that price was not her motivation. ?Needless to say, It turned out AMAZING! ? ?The setting is about a carat in diamonds and two 2 point pink sapphires(.04) total ?and was VERY reasonably priced. ?I am since divorced but this is still my favorite ring of all time, even though I wear it on my right hand now:)
After my husband lost his wedding ring during a vacation, we went ahead and had my wedding band melted down. Some of the platinum went to his new ring and the other half went to mine. Unfortunately the jewelry maker we originally went with created a ring that I just couldn’t live with. Distressed, I was referred to Belle Epoque by a friend. And thank goodness for Tina!!! She not only created a ring that I will forever cherish but she comforted me through a surprisingly emotional experience. I now have the exact ring that I always envisioned. I thank you Tina and my husband reaaaaally thaaaanks youuuuu!!!

I accidently found this place. Patty and Sha were at the booth and I was wondering about aimlessly trying to figure out how to get a necklace fixed and a purchase a necklace I had in mind.I didn’t know where to go and since the St. Vincent Jewelry Mart is huge, I figured I might as well just talk to them and see what they can do.They are both VERY helpful and kind and helped me. I purchased a new necklace and they did the custom work in less than 20 minutes.I then had an idea for a necklace I didn’t see. So I talked to Sha and said well I was thinking this. He came back and we designed one and in less than an hour I had it plus the right size 14KT White Gold chain I was thinking of and wanted. They are both so kind and can custom make any piece of jewelry. Even if they have the stone they can make the setting in no time flat. The prices I paid were so MUCH less expensive than the jewelry stores or any mall store. I decided I wanted an 8 inch 1 carat diamonds white gold tennis bracelet for my significant other. I knew these were very close to $1K everywhere else I was looking especially since I needed an 8 inch. They came in so much lower than that and that will just take a few days.I advised them all of my future jewelry purchases will be through them. They custom make anything and everything is high quality 14KT and 18KT gold. Truly great people with great service Antique Costume Jewelry!
